What do they do?
They offer a wide range of ranger-led interactive educational programmes and activities for schools and other groups including cubs, brownies and birthday parties.They also provide Teacher Training and INSET days in a number of areas including: Early Years activities, Key Stage 1 & 2 activities, Forest School, Forest Art, Habitats, Trees, Literacy in the Environment, Shelter building and Willow Weaving.
What support is offered to Schools?
They run a variety of ranger led programmes for both primary and secondary schools or colleges.
Areas they cover are early years, key stage 1 and 2, key stage 3 and 4, forest schools and post 16.
Example of activities
They have a number of pre-designed programmes covering a wide variety of topics from minibeasts to plants. If, however you and your class are studying something more specific and programmes do not cover the subject they can prepare a bespoke session.
All programmes are closely linked to the National Curriculum. Learning in the Forest and the outdoors provides an excellent setting for learning and understanding across all ages by enabling the children to gain practical experience of subjects previously only looked at in the school classroom.
