All about Willow

Published on 17th January 2015

MEEN would like to invite school gardeners to the Greater Manchester Growing Schools Hub twilight 'All about Willow' on the 11th February at St John Bosco Primary from 3.45pm.

If you have a wanton willow tunnel or a wild willow dome that needs to be tamed this is a session where you will learn all you need to know about growing and working with this popular, flexible and abundant tree.

Willow should easily take root given the right conditions, but what are those conditions and then how do you control its growth and make use of it as an extraordinary resource? The session will involve hands on activities inside and outside, so you need to make sure you wear the right clothing. Tools will be provided but if you want to bring along your own please do.

This twilight promises to be one to give you practical skills and things to take away!
